    Congratulations on becoming the President of the North Stockton Rotary Club.  I am sure you will have an exciting and rewarding Rotary Year.

    Our Governor, Mark Oliver, has had many contacts with the country of Honduras.  During Mark's year as Governor, we would like to provide the country of Honduras with a container of wheelchairs.  The cost of this project to our District will total $21,000.  A number of clubs have already made a commitment to support this project.

    As a part of this project we are proposing that a group of interested Rotarians from the District travel to Honduras during the week of January 15-22, 2006 to assist in distributing the wheelchairs.  The last three days of the trip will allow the group to participate in the project fair held in Honduras.  Governor Mark has indicated that he plans to attend this trip.

    In order to get the wheelchairs ordered, we need to complete the fund raising by the end of September or early October.  This will allow time for the wheelchairs to be ordered and delivered to Honduras to be distributed by the Rotarians in January. 

    I would be most appreciative if your club would make a commitment to be a part of this International project.  Additionally, I would hope that some of your members would be able to participate.  We will be working with Rotarians in Honduras for travel arrangements and hotel accommodations.  I will forward those cost to you as soon as available.  As with most Rotary projects, meals, hotel and airfare are paid by the Rotarians attending.

    I will be most appreciative to receive your reply, hopefully with a willingness to participate in this project.  Please contact me should be wish additional information.  Please make checks payable to Rotary District 5220 indicating the funds are for the wheelchair project.  Please mail the checks to me so that I might account for the funds prior to forwarding them to the District treasurer.
