Stenhammar WOWs D5220

Rotary International President Carl-Wilhelm Stenhammar wowed the nearly 500 Rotarians and spouses who heard him speak at an Intercity Rotary Meeting on Thursday August 11, 2005. In addition, approximately 40 Club Presidents had their picture taken with the RI President and RI Director Jerry Hall, as well as District 5220s Assistant District Governors. What a great day of Rotary fellowship.

True Rotarian Awards

It was our pleasure to recognize the following Rotarians for being great members of their Rotary Clubs:

Bob Thompson, Livingston Rotary

Mike Techacki, Madera Rotary

Bill Sanders, Madera Sunrise Rotary

Rose Parade Float

Does everyone know when the Tournament of Roses Parade is? If you said Jan. 1, most years you would be right. This coming year it will be on Jan. 2, because the never on Sunday rule. We have in the past sent individual club donations direct to Pasadena, but this year they are asking each club to consider a donation of $3 per member and to send it as combined District donation to cut down on their work. To that end, George Stein of Tracy Sunrise Rotary, will be asking checks be made to Rotary District 5220 and sent to him at P O Box 1287, Tracy, CA 95378-1287. We then will send a District check on to the Rotary Float committee and I will be able to report our District combined donation in Friday Facts.

P: Presence in the Community

I: Involvement in International Service

D: Desire to make a difference through Rotary

E: Eradication – Global Polio Eradication Initiative
