Friday Facts on Wednesday?
Due to the fact, I will be at the District Conference Hotel next Wednesday, I will be sending out the Friday Facts early.

Hondurans in the District
The GSE team from Honduras arrived in our District last Sunday after spending two days in San Francisco. This week they are in the Stockton area and they will be traveling to Sonora and Madera before joining us at the District Conference at the end of next week.

New Rotarians
Please welcome the newest members of our Rotary District 5220 family:
Jillian Parks, Stockton Rotary, sponsored by Jonathan Hallsted

Death in the Rotary Family
It is with sadness that I report the death of Sonora 49er Rotarian Curt Smith, a member since 1988. His father, Harry, is one of the most senior members of the club. Our deepest sympathies goes out to his wife, Marguerite and parents Harry and Patsy, children and grandchildren.

District Conference
The District Conference starts next Friday at the beautiful Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite. Rotary International President Carl-Wilhelm’s representatives are PRIVP Frank and Celia Collins. PRID Sam Greene and Caki will also be with us to share some of their Rotary knowledge. PDG Miguel Morazan from Tegucigalpa, Honduras and Ana Cristina de Morazon will also be with us to share a view of our involvement in Honduras. This is a celebration of the 2005-2006 Rotary year, and an opportunity to meet the 2006-2007 Club Presidents and their spouses. We have 4 buses booked for our tour of Yosemite National Park for Friday and we will have a stand-by list for people who want to join us.

A New Tool
Rotary has come up with “Club Rotary Foundation Guide” (155-EN) and it is free. It is used to help clubs organize their support for The Rotary Foundation and outlines the role of the club Rotary Foundation committee and the chair’s responsibilities. It can be ordered from RI Publications Order Services (phone: 847-866-4600; fax 847-866-3276 e-mail; publicationsorder.services@rotary.org) or shop the online catalog at www.rotary.org.
