Friday Facts, March 24

Last Chance!!!
Hotel Rates Increase March 27
The unused rooms at the Tenaya Lodge (there is still a few) will go from our contracted rate of $135 to the regular rate of $213 on March 27. Forms to be faxed to the Hotel can be downloaded at www.rotary5220.org, the other form is to be filled out and sent to the address on the form. The District Conference committee and I have two goals for the District Conference, one is to have FUN (as in 17 Club Hospitality Suites, Mexican Fiesta, and Governors Ball) the other is to show our Rotary Pride (Saturday as Rotary Pride Day, Rotary Pride moments from some of our clubs, and Rotary Pride awards at the Governors Ball).

Area 7 Joint Meeting
Three of Area 7’s Club met yesterday in Riverbank for the 4 Way Test Speech Contest for Rotarians. Riverbank President Chuck Goodman, Escalon Sunrise President Ray Caparros, and Salida President Cathy Pierce had great turn out of club members. Area meetings are a great way for Rotarians to network, and get better acquainted with Rotarians from other clubs.

Speech Contest Finals
Saturday April 8, the student speech contest and the Rotarian speech contest finals will be held in Modesto. Both contests will take place in the county offices at 1010 10th St., in downtown Modesto. The student contest is at 1:00 PM and the Rotarian contest is at 2:30 PM. The contests will be in the lower level Supervisors Chambers. All Rotarians are welcome and listen to some very bright students and fellow Rotarians.

Cabinet Meeting
Tomorrow, March 25, at 8:30 AM we will have our 3rd Cabinet meeting in Salida at the firehouse. All Rotarians are welcome to come and hear what great things are happening in this District. We usually will get done by 12 noon or sooner.

New Meeting Location
Escalon Sunrise is now meeting at the Escalon High School Cafeteria, at the same time and day.

Club Project Pictures
Each club is asked to send 4X6 pictures of club projects, either community or international. About 10 from each club will be used at the District Conference for table decorations. Send them to Carol Kennedy, 504 Barsotti, Madera, CA 93637.
