Loss in Rotary Family
It is with sadness that I report the Passing of Rotarian Louie Shein, a member of Madera Rotary for 45 years. Our condolences to the family and club-mates for their loss.

One of Our Newest PHFs
The winner of the Foundation Dinner raffle grand prize of $1,000 used the majority of the money to complete his Paul Harris Fellowship. Mark Herder of North Stockton Rotary was the winner at our Dinner last month.

Peru Trip
There are still 4 seats available for the February trip to Peru to check out completed water projects and scout new ones. The group is also going to do some sightseeing. Contact Rotarian Milt Camp at Miltcamp@aol.com for further information.

Membership
Rotary club members are part of a diverse group of professional leaders working to address various community and international service needs. Through community service and other means, Rotary club members help promote peace and understanding throughout the world. Our members are our most important assets! They are the force that allows Rotary to carry out its many humanitarian efforts and achieve its mission.  There are many resources available to help us in our membership efforts.  Some of these are available through Rotary International's Membership Download Center at http://www.rotary.org/newsroom/downloadcenter/membership/index.html#development

For more information you can contact 5220 Membership Co-Chairs Susan Drake (209-472-9662) susanjdrake@sbcglobal.net or Terry Hull (209-644-6412) thullsr@pmerents.com

Membership Matters!  Imagine if your club was to lose 10% of its members.  How would that affect your service program?  What projects might not get finished and which ones might never have been started.  Now consider what your club could accomplish with 10% more members.  Think about the new ideas and projects that could be initiated, the additional people to take on leadership roles.  The continued viability of Rotary and its mission depends on continued membership growth and development efforts.    Each of us must do our part to keep our Rotary Clubs strong and healthy.  Your district membership committee is available to help. You can contact co-chairs Susan Drake (209-472-9662)  susanjdrake@sbcglobal.net  or Terry Hull (209-644-6412)  thullsr@pmerents.com
